डरपोक खरगोश आज हम देखेंगे एक डरपोक खरगोश की कहानी

  एक जंगल में एक खरगोश रहता था। वह बहुत ही डरपोक था। कहीं जरा-सी भी आवाज सुनाई पड़ती तो वह डरकर भागने लगता। डर के मारे वह हर वक्त अपने कान खड़े रखता। इसलिए वह कभी सुख से सो नहीं पाता था।

एक दिन खरगोश एक आम के पेड़ के नीचे सो रहा था। तभी पेड़ से एक आम उसके पास आकर गिरा। आम गिरने की अवाज सुनकर वह हड़बड़ा कर उठा और उछलकर दूर जा खडा हुआ। "भागो! भागो! आसमान गिर रहा है।" चिल्लाता हुआ सरपट भागने लगा।

रास्ते में उसे एक हिरन मिला। हिरन ने उससे पूछा, "अरे भाई तुम इस तरह भाग क्यों रहे हो? आखिर मामला क्या है? खरगोश ने कहा, अरे भाग, भाग! जल्दी भाग! आसमान गिर रहा है। हिरन भी डरपोक था। इसलिए वह भी भयभीत होकर उसके साथ भागने लगा। भागते-भागते दोनो जोर-जोर से चिल्ला रहे थे, "भागो! भागो! आसमान गिर रहा है।श"
उनकी देखादेखी डर के मारे जिराफ, भेडि़या, लोमडी, गीदड़, तथा अन्य जानवरों का झुंड भी उनके साथ भागने लगा। सभी भागते-भागते एक साथ चिल्लाते जा रहे थे, भागो! भागो! आसमान गिर रहा है। उस समय सिंह अपनी गुफा में सो रहा था। जानवरो का शोर सुनकर वह हडबड़ाकर जाग उठा। गुफा से बाहर आया, तो उसे बहुत क्रोध आया। उसने दहाड़ते हुए कहा, रूको! रूको! आखिर क्या बात है?
सिंह के डर से सभी जानवर रूक गए। सबने एक स्वर मे कहा, "आसमान नीचे गिर रहा है।"

यह सुनकर सिंह को बड़ी हँसी आई। हँसते-हँसते उसकी आँखो में आँसू आ गए। उसने अपनी हँसी रोककर कहा, "आसमान को गिरते हुए किसने देखा है?" सब एक-दूसरे का मुँह ताकने लगे। अंत में सभी की निगाह खरगोश की ओर मुड़ गई तभी उसके मुँह से निकला, "आसमान का एक टुकड़ा तो उस आम के पेड़ के नीचे ही गिरा है।"

"अच्छा चलो, हम वहाँ चलकर देखते हैं।" सिंह ने कहा।
सिंह के साथ जानवरों की पूरी पलटन आम के पेड़ के पास पहुँची सबने इधर-उधर तलाश की। किसी को आसमान का कोई टुकड़ा कहीं नजर नही आया। हाँ, एक आम जरूर उन्हे जमीन पर गिरा हुआ दिखाई दिया।

सिंह ने आम की ओर इशारा करते हुए खरगोश से पूछा, "यही है, आसमान का टुकड़ा, जिसके लिए तुमने सबको भयभीत कर दिया?"

अब खरगोश को अपनी भूल समझ में आई। उसका सिर शर्म से झुक गया। वह डर के मारे थर-थर काँपने लगा।

दूसरे जानवर भी इस घटना से बहुत शार्मिंदा हुए। वे अपनी गलती पर पछता रहे थे कि सुनी-सुनाई बात से डरकर वे बेकार ही भाग रहे थे।


शिक्षा - सुनी-सुनाई बात पर विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए।
