Kids always love to paint with colours.
Some creative ideas to do vegetable painting...

Is your Child a picky eater?

Here are some tips that you should keep in mind...

-Do not use other foods as REWARDS. if you say,"Eat your carrots and you can have some cake," you are teaching that carrots aren't desirable.

-Do not FORCE kids to eat. If you do, children stop hearing their own inner voices that tell them they are full, and that can lead to overeating and obesity.

-Do not make SPECIAL MEALS. Just make sure there is always something at meals that child will eat (such as bread or milk( so they won't go hungry.

-Do not let children NIBBLE throughout the day (also called grazing). Provide food choices only at meals and snacks that are at the same times each day.

-Do provide a VARIETY of healthy foods.

-Do give SMALL PORTIONS and let children ask for more. An easy guide for serving size is a tablespoon (about the size of a 9 volt battery) of each type of food for each year of a child's age.

-Do provide HEALTHY SNACKS between meals. Kids's stomach are small, but they use up a lot of energy. Toddlers should be offered the opportunity to each n every 2-3 hours.

-Do offer NEW FOODS often.

-Do MODEL healthy eating habits. Children are more likely to try food that they see others eating and enjoying.

-Do make mealtimes ENJOYABLE. Let children help with meal prep, make the meal a social time, and take away distractions such as TV.

-Do RELAX! A parent's job is to provide nutritious foods. A child's job is to decide how much and whether to eat or not.

What does your child's behaviour mean?

Kids who WHINE usually feel powerless and like they can't cope; they often just need a chance to cry.

Kids who are BOSSY and CONTROLLING worry that they don't get their needs met.

Kids who TAUNT or COMPETE with siblings often need to feel more valued for who they are, and more connected to parent.

Kids who DON'T LISTEN often don't feel their desires are acknowledged.

Kids who rebel usually need a chance to feel more powerful and competent.

Kids who DISRESPECT you are always showing you they don't feel connected enough to you.

EFFECTIVE PARENTING

Some tips for parents...

YELLING silences your message. Speak quietly so your children can hear your words instead of just your voice.

Teaching our children to control themselves is far more effective than trying to control our children.
-Model, don't manipulate.
-Lead, don't intimidate.
-Support, don't shame.
-Encourage, don't threaten.
-Guide, don't punish.
-Listen, don't lecture.

Children are not problems. Focus on helping your child, not fixing your child.

Human nature dictates that if you have a weapon and believe you have the right or the need to use it, you will use it. Don't build an arsenal against your children to control them. Instead gather resources to work with your children to guide them. That is a secret to a peaceful, happy home.

Discipline is helping a child solve a problem. Punishment is making a child suffer retribution for having a problem. To raise problem solvers focus on solutions, not retributions.

Reactors react to a crisis with a meltdown. Responders respond to a crisis with help. To raise a mature, stable adult, be a responder, not a nuclear reactor.

Inviting cooperation rather than forcing compliance to grows leaders instead of followers.

Freaking out on your child for freaking out is as hypothetical as it is ineffective. Slow down. Breathe. Then act like the adult you want them to become.

Here are 8 ways by which you can calm down your kid anywhere...

All kids have a hard time regulating their emotions. Some have tougher times than others. For those that need a bit extra help, these calming tools can do anywhere, will provide them the skills necessary to calm down in any situation.

1. COUNT TO 5

Counting is a great way to help kids learn how to stop and think before reacting to their anger. Impulse control is difficult to come by for young kids. This simple tactic gives them a chance to think before they act.

2. TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Deep breathing is such a great relaxation technique. Despite, how they are feeling, taking a deep breath can help them calm their body quickly.

3. BLOW INTO YOUR HANDS

This is another technique for promoting deep breathing. By blowing directly into their hands rather than the air, the child receives feedback and can feel the strength of their breaths.

4. PLACE HANDS IN POCKETS

This act provides kids with some deep pressure and physical restraint. An alternative to this would be to sit on hands or clasp them tightly.

5. ACKNOWLEDGE ANTECEDENTS TO ANGER

It is so important that kids begin to notice and realise what happens to their bodies when they become angry. What does their face feel like? Is there tension in their body?

6. MAKE A FIST, THEN RELAX THE HAND

Squeezing hands into fists and then releasing is a great way to remove some of the tension built up in the body. Often kids do not realise how much tension they are holding in their bodies when becoming upset.

7. DO A BODY SCAN

Star at the head, working down the body, notice areas of tension and relax those of muscles.

8. ASK FOR A HUG

Hug can make everything better. Find someone you love and hug it out.

Do you REACT or RESPOND to your child

"Stop that crying right now" instead of it say "You look upset, do you need a hug?"

"If you two don't stop fighting. I am turning the car around!" instead of it say "I am pulling over. When the car is quiet. I will continue driving."

"What?! You spilled your juice again!" instead say "Oops. Let's get a rag and get that mess cleaned up."

"Darn right it's not fair. Life's not fair. Get used to it." instead say "I can tell you are upset about my decision."

"Another 'C'? What is wrong with you?" instead say "It's look like you are struggling in maths. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"That's enough whining, young lady." instead of this say "Please use calm voice when asking me for something."

"I've had it with you." instead say "I'm feeling frustrated right now. I am going to take a walk to calm down."

These phrases will help you handle your child and difficult situations better..

ABC Song | Alphabet Songs | ABCD song for kids nursery rhymes from Jugnu Kids

#kids #jugnukids #jugnukidsvideos #jugnukidsnurseryrhymes

The four C's of Parenting-

CHOICES
Providing your child with choices that fit reasonable constraints allows her to practice decision-making and build a sense of autonomy and growing independence. But you must remain firm about which options are available. An example: you can either choose to clean your room before you go out to play, or you clean your room after you play, but will have to come back 30 minutes earlier. You given your kid the opportunity to complete the work, but within the limits that are acceptable.

CONSEQUENCES
Consequences can be either good or bad, but it is important that your child grasp that consensuses are a result of his choices. Providing consequences that make sense will allow your child to understand how the choices he make influences his outcomes. Foe example- You can either choose to speak respectfully right now, or you will need to take some time in your room.

CONSISTENCY
Mean what you say and say what you mean. This principle helps young people gain a stable sense of how to interact with other people. Although your child will eventually encounter people who will be emotionally oe behaviourally inconsistent with them, they need you to offer the kind of consistency that creates a positive standards. Parents always be on the same page.

CARE
No matter what you do, your child must sense that you are acting out of love. It is important to remind him that you are acting because you love and care about them, especially, in moments of conflicts. A good example- I would not be a good mom if I allowed you to think it is alright to hit other children.

Parents! Never say these things to your child!!!

1. Do not talk to strangers- This is a tough concept for a child to understand. kids may take this rule wrong way and resist the help of police when in need. They may not think of a person as a stranger if he is nice to him. Instead of warning explain them with the help of a situation like if there is a stranger who will offering candy or ride, then in this situation what they will do and guide them to proper course of action. If anyone makes you feel sad, scared or confused you need to tell me right now.

2. We cannot afford that- Doing so sends a message that you are not in control of your finances, which can be scary for the child. Instead we can say that we are saving money for more important things and if the conversation goes on then it is the perfect time to start a conversation on managing money and budget.

3. No desert unless you finish your dinner- It will diminishes his/her enjoyment of meal, the opposite will happen of what you want to accomplish. The change of wording have more positive impact on child like 'First we eat our meal and then we have desert'.

4. Let me help- If you all the time help your child will always be looking to answers from others. It will undermine your child's independence. Instead ask guiding questions to help them solve the problem.

5. Great job- This phrase makes your child masters a skill on your affirmation rather than on their own motivation.

6. Be careful- Suppose your child is playing in the ground, These words can distract a child and he/she will fall or get hurt. Rather go and stand near them if you are feeling anxious, as still and quiet you can.

7. You're OK- When your child falls and scrapes his knee and he is crying do not say that he is okay because he is hurt and that is why he is crying. You can use phrase like "that was a scary fall"

8. Practice makes perfect- Encourage your child to work more so that he/she will improve and feel proud of his progress. This can ramp up the pressure and he/she will feels to win or excel and also think negative.

9. Hurry up- Your child eats breakfast slowly and on the other hand getting last for school. Do not ask him to hurry up rather say 'let's hurry' which makes him feel that two of you are in same team, otherwise h/she will feel that they have to face all the struggles alone.

10. I am on diet- These kind of phrase may develop an unhealthy body image. rather use 'I am eating healthy' or ' it's beautiful outside I am going on a walk' and may inspire them to join you for a walk.

IS YOUR CHILD OVERWEIGHT?
IS YOUR CHILD LAZY?
DO YOU FACE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS MOST OF THE PARENTS FACE?

Then you must read this...
Parents should take care of their child. Parents need to be aware that overweight in childhood can lead to health problems later. Junk Food favourite of all kids; Pizzas, burgers, fries, chips, chocolates, candies and many more... These food items attract kids and they prefer them over the home made food. But the aftereffects can be worse. Lack of physical activities in children is another reason for the obesity. Nowadays, there are no physical activities of the children reason being the excessive use of gadgets by the children, all the kids want to sit at home in air conditioned room and watch television all the time. They do not want to go out and play.
The unhealthy eating habits and lack of physical activities or a combination of both can make a child obese and then later on make a child overweight which can lead to heart diseases.

But do not worry, Here are some ideas for a healthy child-
HEALTHY EATING HABITS
Over weight children are advised to eat more healthy food to reduce total number of calories that they already ate. Eat colourful foods, fruits and vegetables should be given to these children. Parents should take care of their children and keep a check of their eating habits. Breakfast should be a priority . One should never skip breakfast.

JUNK FOOD ONLY ON OCCASIONS
Pizzas, burgers, cakes, chips, fries... All the junk food items should be given occasionally like when going for picnics or on birthday parties, and so on.

LESS SCREEN TIME AND MORE SLEEP
Good amount of sleep is very important for kids. Children should sleep properly at night as well as during day time which will help them in being healthy and fit.

PLENTY OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Take kids for a walk, take them to park for rides. Physical activities play an important role for a child to be healthy and fit. Give children around 60 minutes of physical activity to be in good health.

BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL
Children will follow whatever their parents will do. They will see and will do the same things as their parents does. So be a good example for your children.
